What is Contract Logistics?

Contract logistics involves the outsourcing of resource management tasks by one company to a third-party company that specialises in that sector.

This may include transporting & distributing goods, warehousing, managing inventory, processing orders and certain aspects of customer service.

The contract logistics company becomes an extension of the clients' business, one big happy family.

What are the benefits?

A key benefit is company cost savings, particularly by eliminating the need to build and maintain a costly logistics infrastructure. More often than not, a contract logistics company will possess greater buying power, passing on cost savings when it comes to transportation and warehousing.

How does it work?

We will arrange an initial introductory meeting to assess your current supply chain set up, our levels of involvement, key areas in which you would like us to focus on improving and current supplier/ client volumes. From this we will be able to put together a formal offer, detailing our fees and infrastructure needed to enable us to successfully manage your supply chain.

Should this be acceptable, we will arrange further meetings to establish our milestones and objectives for the initial integration phase. We will contact your current suppliers to establish current pricing and service agreements, procuring additional suppliers that will be able to add value and secure cost savings.

  • We identify weak links in your supply chain, implementing procedures and protocols to ensure production lines, warehouses, distributors and other key members are synchronised and performing at maximum efficiency.

  • We continually run tenders and costing exercises to ensure we secure the most competitive prices on the market, reducing your expenditure.

  • We arrange and manage all distribution and shipping aspects, ensuring schedules are met.

  • We manage the group of suppliers (3PLs and other companies), maintaining a consistent performance.

  • We liaise directly with your customers and suppliers to ensure we adhere to their policies, requirements and country import/ export procedures.
